In this 6‑week Foundations PLUS course, we take those early skills and turn them into reliable, confident trailing behaviour. This is where your dog begins to work like a true trailing dog. Across six structured sessions, you and your dog will progress from simple starts to covert starts — meaning your dog will learn that the moment they step out of the car, the nose switches on and the mission begins. You’ll develop: Stronger drive and immediate engagement at the start Clearer, more committed scent acquisition Improved line handling and teamwork under increasing difficulty Problem‑solving on longer, more complex trails Confidence working new environments and new trail layers A dog who understands the job from the second the boot opens By the end of this course, your dog will be confidently performing covert starts, showing you they can switch into trailing mode instantly and independently.
